Kerrie Coles
Kerrie Coles describes her paintings as autobiographical – a record of a personal journey through a landscape both metaphorical and literal. They are images filled with infinite space, sensitive and powerful at the same time, where the drama of shifting light creates a palette rich in colour and moody darks. Coles works eminently with pastel, her medium of choice, allowing its vibrancy and also its subtlety to find its own momentum, yet controlling every aspect of the final outcome, always in tune with her own spirituality and that of the emerging image.
