Matthew Tome
Since moving from Sydney to Newcastle, Matthew’s paintings have developed a more open, lighter style and contain more natural forms.
His larger paintings exude the artist’s love of paint and have developed like lush wet drawings, coloured line pushed through a thick oily surface.
He is currently Head Teacher of Fine Arts at Hunter Street TAFE.
Matthew’s work has been aquired by numerous private and public collectors in Australia and overseas. including Artbank, Art Gallery of South Australia, Old parliament House Collection – Canberra Queensland State Library Queensland University of Technology Art Museum and the State Library of Victoria.
